I am a children's author and puppeteer. I can read a book with one hand and wag a puppet-dog tail with the other - often both at the same time!

My new picture book, The Quiet Woman And The Noisy Dog (illustrated by Ailie Busby) has just been published. A quiet woman and her noisy dog meet a noisy woman and her quiet dog in the park and the dogs get muddled up. It is an onomatopoeic story of comic confusion that results in friendship for two dogs and their owners.

Being a mum has inspired my stories. My first book, HIC! was based on reading bedtime stories to my daughter and her toy cow. The Quiet Woman and the Noisy Dog was written for my sisters and their noisy dogs. My own noisy dog was the model for the puppet dog that accompanies me on school visits and other author events.
